What happens if my license expires?

If you have purchased a lifetime license, your license can not expire. Therefore, you can disregard this article as it does not apply to you.

If you have purchased an annual license but decide to cancel your subscription, your license will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle. After the billing cycle ends, your license will expire, and you will no longer have access to:

  • Updates
  • Bugfixes
  • Security updates
  • Support
  • Your Studio Wombat account & downloads.

Can I continue to use the plugin when my license expired?

Yes, but there are a few notes to take into account:

  • You will no longer receive updates and bugfixes. Eventually, your version will become outdated. As WordPress or WooCommerce continues to release updates, there is no assurance that the outdated version of the plugin will continue to function properly on your website. For simpler plugins like Business Hours Indicator, this may continue to work for a long time. But for plugins like Advanced Product Fields, which ties into a lot of areas within WooCommerce, we can not recommend letting your license expire.
  • You must keep the plugin activated. Once you remove the plugin or deactivate your license, you will not be able to activate it again.
  • You will not have access to your Studio Wombat account, so you can not download the plugin anymore. It is up to your to keep a copy of the plugin.
