Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce

This is our own version of a “product add-ons” plugin. We’re not going to tell you it’s the best. There are cases where it makes sense to use another plugin. But in general, the reason why we built it is that it fixes shortcomings we found in other plugins (in terms of SEO, speed, and features).

WooCommerce Custom Product Addons

This is our second favorite plugin and one we often recommend. It’s easy to use and works well. There are a few quirks we would have done differently, but no deal breakers.

WooCommerce Product Add-Ons

This is WooCommerce’s official Product Addons plugin. An advantage of using the official add-on is that many themes and plugins will integrate with it. A disadvantage is that it lacks a lot of features and it doesn’t receive regular updates.

Yith WooCommerce Product Add-Ons

The “product options” plugin by Yith is amongst the most expensive at $100 USD per year. As an advantage, the plugin looks great on your site. There are some disadvantages, though: admin settings are not intuitive and the plugin is generally slower because it includes a lot of extra code & scripts.

Extra Product Options for WooCommerce

This popular product addons plugin is easy to use and offers some niche features that other plugins don’t have, such as extra date field settings. The downside is that this plugin adds quite a lot of scripts to your site (even if you don’t need them). As a result, your site takes longer to load.

Flexible Product Fields for WooCommerce

This plugin is easy to use but does not stand out from the competition in many ways. Nonetheless, it can be a good choice for your project.

WooCommerce PPOM

This is the oldest Product Options plugin in our comparison. Unfortunately, its age is noticeable throughout the plugin: the admin user interface looks a bit outdated and the plugin is slower than the competition.
